New UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan holds talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov received newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko.

The diplomats reviewed current and promising joint projects and discussed key areas of cooperation. The sides focused on the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, transport, ecology, health care and other spheres, based on which a number of UN General Assembly resolutions were adopted.

The parties also reviewed the implementation of the Framework Programme for Cooperation in the Field of Sustainable Development between the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025.

During the talks, Dmitry Shlapachenko said that, while heading the UN country team, he would make every effort to develop cooperation between the UN and Turkmenistan in the interests of universal peace, stability and prosperity.
