Putin to Meet Presidents of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran in Ashgabat

President of Russia Vladimir Putin in Ashgabat on June 29 will hold bilateral meetings with the Presidents of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Iran, the Ria news cites the Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov as saying during a press briefing on Monday.
Ushakov told the briefing that the day of the Caspian summit, June 29, will mark the 65th anniversary of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh.
"Putin will hold a special meeting with the speaker of Turkmenistan's upper house of parliament and personally congratulate him," Ushakov added. He noted that the Russian side has already sent a congratulatory telegram to colleagues in Turkmenistan, and they received it.
Following the meeting with the Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Putin will participate in the sixth Caspian Summit, Ushakov said, adding that “after its completion, our president will hold two bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani President (Ilham) Aliyev and Iranian President (Ebrahim) Raisi."
The previous summit of Caspian littoral states was held in Aktau city of Kazakhstan on August 12, 2018. The summit resulted in the signing of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.
