The 7th meeting of the Subcommittee on Energy Cooperation of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee was held on November 19, 2021 in an online format. The Turkmen side was headed by the Chairman of the State Concern «Turkmengas» Batyr Amanov, from the Chinese side was chaired by the Director of the State Energy Administration of the PRC Zhang Jianhua. The meeting was also attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the two countries. The parties discussed the implementation of agreements in the oil and gas industry, reached during a telephone conversation between the leaders of the two states, which took place in May this year. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the decisions of the previous meetings, and aspects of further cooperation in the oil and gas and gas chemical fields were considered. In particular, issues related to the export of Turkmen natural gas to China were discussed. The meeting also discussed issues of comprehensive cooperation to increase trade volumes, develop gas fields, increase production and expand cooperation in financing projects. The parties also paid attention to topical areas of cooperation in the energy sector, including renewable energy sources. The parties agreed to continue close cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
